About
The Caroline County Shooting Preserve was founded in 1963 by Thomas R. Swann, better known as Tommy but affectionately referred to as "Hard Head". He was a wild quail hunter and guide prior to starting the shooting preserve at his home farm. Tommy passed away in January of 2013 but his legacy still lives on.
CCSP is currently owned and operated by Donnie Swann, Tommy's son. Donnie works hard to ensure the hunters who come to his home farm are treated with respect and experience a hunt that they will never forget. He began working at the shooting preserve as a young child and has devoted his life to training dogs and carrying on the heritage of upland hunting.
CCSP is a family business with Donnie's wife, daughters, sons in law, and grandchildren all pitching in to help. The other guides at the shooting preserve are all local hunters who have a passion for training their dogs and offering a quality experience to everyone they take out in the field.
Services
Our experienced guides will greet you when you pull up to the farm to get you registered and handle every aspect of the hunting experience. Your hunt will include either Quail, Chukar, Pheasant or a mixture of all three depending on your preference. The guide will be equipped with a well-trained dog to point and flush the birds in one of our many fields.
If you'd rather bring your own dog for an unguided hunt that's an option too! You will have an entire field to yourself for a morning or afternoon of upland hunting.
We offer bird picking services as well at an additional fee. Our guides and bird pickers work for tips so please be prepared to add an appropriate gratuity based on the quality of your experience.
